Genesis Energy Consultants Pt Ltd (Genesis) was engaged by an Otway Basin oil and gas operator to undertake a CCS development concept selection study. The project comprised of “brownfield” modifications, CO2 capture, transport and injection into existing gas fields.
Carbon CQ was engaged to provide subsurface expertise in support of the Genesis engagement. The scope included framing the concept selection design basis:
- Storage target screening – both depleted gas fields and saline aquifers
- Storage capacity and injection potential estimates
- Assessments of well design and integrity
- Flow assurance
- Advice on MMV activity.
